From here is a quick descend by a paved, winding road, passing between snowy mountains, grazing alpacas, llamas, small towns and an antidrug control station. There is a brief undulating section before entering the jungle – the most challenging portion of the trip; a narrow mountainside round with a 1,000m precipice and waterfalls on the other side. (Note: since March 2007, most of the traffic on this road has decreased as the new road is used, leaving a close to empty road in order to enjoy the scenery).

As the ride continues, it becomes increasingly hot and dusty again. Once the bottom is reached (Yolosa, 1,100 m / 3,600 feet), you will continue until Refugio Animal La Senda Verde, where lunch is served (buffet of salads and pasta), magnificent scenery and cold refreshments can be enjoyed relaxing at the poolside. There is also an opportunity to see the rescued animals. Return to La Paz by car.
