  • Day 1 (Friday) – Nairobi

    Meet and greet at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi. After clearance with customs transfer (minivan) to The Tribe Hotel for check in and refreshment. Later proceed to the Giraffe Centre for an afternoon excursion after which you will have lunch at Carnivore restaurant returning to The Tribe for overnight.

    Meals included: Lunch.

    Day 2 – Samburu National Reserve

    After breakfast, check out of the hotel and board the 4×4 safari vehicle to drive north to Samburu National Reserve, arrive for check in and lunch at Samburu Sopa Lodge. After relaxation, proceed on an afternoon game drive in the reserve returning later for dinner and overnight.

    Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

    Day 3 – Samburu National Reserve

    Full day in Samburu National Reserve with early morning, mid morning and afternoon game drives in 4×4 pop-up roof safari vehicle. All meals and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

    Samburu Sopa Lodge has an attractive location within the Samburu National Reserve with panoramic views of distant rolling hills to one side and Mt. Kenya on the other. It is the only lodge in Samburu to have a waterhole, so after a day of game drives out on the plains guests can spend lazy evenings relaxing in the comfort of the lobby or their bedroom veranda and view various animals coming to drink.

    Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

    Day 4 – Aberdare National Park

    After breakfast, check out and drive by 4×4 pop-up roof safari vehicle to the Aberdare National Park arriving at Aberdare Country Club for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will be transferred to The Ark Tree Lodge where you will spend the evening observing wildlife from the lodge as the animals come to the nearby saltlick and waterhole. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

    The Ark is unique in that it has been specially designed in the shape of Noah’s Ark. With an attractive timber, stilted construction it is comprised of three decks with 60 guest “cabins” and two lounges. Each guest cabin has en suite facilities with shower and w.c. The cabins even have special buzzers to alert guests to the arrival of any big animals at the waterhole.

    Day 5 – Lake Nakuru National Park

    After a cup of tea or coffee check out of the Tree Lodge and board the transfer vehicle to the Aberdare Country Club for breakfast after which our driver will assist you with collecting the rest of your luggage. Continue by the 4×4 pop-up roof safari vehicle down the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park with an en route game drive, arriving at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge for check in and lunch. After relaxation, proceed on an afternoon game drive in the park returning later for dinner and overnight.

    The Sarova Lion Hill Lodge is located in the heart of the Great African Rift Valley, on the shores of Lake Nakuru, one of East Africa’s most famous soda lakes. The lodge setting, overlooking the lake, offers a unique vantage point. Boasting over 450 bird species, Lake Nakuru Park sets the stage for a definitely incredible time at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge. Marvel at the serenity of the wild atop Baboon cliff as you sample the best cocktail blends, or dine under the acacia trees with an amazing view of the pink rimmed lake.

    Day 6 – Masai Mara

    After breakfast, check out and drive Southwest in the 4×4 pop-up roof safari vehicle to Masai Mara National Game Reserve arriving for check in and lunch at Keekorok Lodge. After relaxation, proceed on an afternoon game drive returning later for dinner and overnight.

    Day 7 – Masai Mara

    Full day in Masai Mara National Game Reserve with early morning, mid morning and afternoon game drives in 4×4 pop-up roof safari vehicle. All meals and overnight at Keekorok Lodge.

    As one of the first properties to open within the Reserve over 40 years ago, Keekorok Lodge was placed in an enviable position in the direct path of the incredible Great Wildebeest Migration. This spectacular event of nature brings thousands of wildebeest, other plains game and their predators into the area each year between July and October. Having retained its historic charm of years gone by, Keekorok Lodge nowadays provides all the modern amenities expected of a good safari lodge with comfortable rooms and high levels of service.

    Day 8 – Nairobi / Arusha

    After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi in 4×4 pop-up roof safari vehicle. Drop off at Wilson airport for the 12.40h flight to Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro airport (arrives approx 13.35h). Met on arrival to transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Day 9 – Lake Manyara

    After breakfast you’ll be met at the hotel by your expert driver-guide with a private 4×4 safari vehicle. Take a short tour of the town and have lunch. Later drive to Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.

    Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

    Day 10 – Serengeti National Park

    Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Lunch at the lodge. Then, drive to Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.

    Day 11 – Serengeti National Park

    Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Meals and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.

    Centrally located adjacent to the famous Western Corridor and Grumeti River, the lodge has been designed to blend completely into the living landscape. A series of traditional domed ‘rondavels’ are widely spaced throughout the grounds, which are cooled by groves of acacia trees and watered by sparkling streams. On the very edge of the ridge is a ‘vanishing horizon’ pool, which looks out over the ‘endless plains’ after which the Serengeti is named.

    Day 12 – Ngorongoro Crater

    Depart for a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Lunch at the lodge. After lunch drive to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue driving to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

    Day 13 – Ngorongoro Crater

    Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 metres) to the floor of the crater for a day crater tour with picnic lunches. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

    Ngorongoro Serena’s beauty comes from the way in which the lodge was designed. Built from local material called river stone, the lodge is narrow and set low and is enveloped by green lush vines to give it a feel of partial invisibility especially when right down in the Crater. The décor is borrowed from the pre-historic era to emulate the caves of those days. Big arched passages made of stone are filled with ancient paintings that have been carved. Burning torches light the way that throw a soft glow to the interiors if the lodge where an ever-burning fire is found within the lodges centre.

    Day 14 – Kilimanjaro / Nairobi

    After breakfast, drive back to Kilimanjaro airport to check-in for the 13.40h flight back to Nairobi Wilson airport (arrives approx 14.45h) from where you will be met and transferred across to the international airport for your onward flight.
