  • Day 01 – Lima

    Arrival in Lima, meet and greet at the airport, transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Lima.

    Meals included: Nil.

    Day 02 – Lima

    We will have a tour through Lima’s streets and plazas. Starting at the Love Park in Miraflores, with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, and then heading to the Huaca Pucllana, ceremonial center of the Lima culture. After this, we go on to the Main Square where the Government Palace and the Town Hall are located. We will visit the Cathedral and explore Santo Domingo Convent, along which corridors San Martin de Porras and San Rosa de Lima used to walk around in 17th century, and where their remains rest today. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay in Lima.

    Day 03 – Lima to Arequipa

    Transfer to the airport and flight to Arequipa. On arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel.

    In the afternoon, the tour begins in the beautiful colonial quarter of San Lázaro, where Arequipa was founded; from here we will walk along the picturesque streets adorned with geraniums, and then we will head for the Carmen Alto viewpoint from where we will be able to admire the beautiful landscape of farming terraces and the three guardian volcanoes that surround the city: Misti, Chachani and Pichu-Picchu. We will then continue to the colonial district of Yanahuara, famous for its church built in Andalusian style, and its viewpoint with is gorgeous architecture surrounded by sillar stone arches.  We will then visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine, an impressive religious monument that had been closed to the public for nearly 400 years; its narrow streets, plazas and gardens reminds us of the ancient districts of Seville or Granada.  Finally, we will head for the Main Square, where we will be able to see the Cathedral and the arches that surround the plaza, and then visit the Church of the Company of Jesus founded in the 17th century by the Jesuits, and which stands out for its cloisters and the famous Saint Ignacio Dome. Overnight stay in Arequipa.

    Day 04 – Arequipa to Cusco

    Transfer to the airport and flight to Cusco. On arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will climb up the Archeological Park of Sacsayhuaman, and start our excursion visiting the fortress with the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace and quiet, where we will be able to admire the huge rocks measuring up to 4 meters high that were used in its construction.  We will then head for Q’enqo, and ancient temple of the Puma, where we will be able to appreciate an altar for sacrifices in the inner part of a huge rock, and then Tambomachay, sacred fountains of life and health.  On the way we will have a panoramic view from Puca Pucara, a watchtower that controlled the entrance to the city.  After that we will visit the Temple of the Sun “The Korikancha”, on top of which the Saint Dominique Convent was built.  A legend tells that his temple was entirely lined in gold sheets that marveled the Conquistadors upon their arrival. Finally, we will go to the Main Square and will visit the Cathedral that reassures invaluable colonial paintings and other works of art such as the Cross that arrived with the first conquistadors. Overnight stay in Cusco.

    Day 05 – Cusco to Sacred Valley

    The Sacred Valley of the Incas welcomes us every day.  On the way we will stop at Awanacancha, a place where we will be able to see and feed Andean camelids such as llamas and alpacas, and where the locals will show us their traditional weaving and dyeing techniques.  We will then reach the traditional Pisac Market, where we will have free time to tour it and buy handicrafts.  If you want to taste something traditional, go to the wood ovens and try the bread and empanadas. We will have lunch in a local restaurant.  In the afternoon, we will head for Ollantaytambo, a picturesque town which has been inhabited non-stop since the Inca times, where we will visit the temple with the same name, used as a fortress during the Inca resistance and where we will be able to get collection snapshots. Overnight stay in Sacred Valley.

    Day 06 – Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco

    A train trip away to see one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. We arrive at the Aguas Calientes station where our staff will assist us on boarding the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon.  The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. After a guided visit, we will have lunch at one of the restaurants in the area. At the arranged time, we will take the train back to Cusco to be transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay in Cusco.

    Day 07 – Cusco to Lima

    Transfer to the airport. Flight to Lima. Arrival and assistance for the connection with the international flight.
