  • Day 01 – Hanoi

Visit Ngoc Son temple set on a tiny island on the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake. Take a breezy cyclo ride through the Old Quarter’s 36 streets, a place where Hanoians buy everything from noodles to light fixtures to Buddha statues.

Then your guide will take you on a culinary adventure, sampling street food in the Old Quarter. Try a range of tasty noodles, breads, flame grilled barbeque skewers and end off with a dessert.

    Meals included: Nil.

    Day 02 – Hanoi

Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (open in the morning only and closed Mon and Fri), his Former Residence and Temple of Literature – the first University and the capital of Vietnam 1000 years ago.

After a traditional lunch, visit the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, an excellent showcase of women’s role in the Vietnamese society and culture and how it has changed over time. Then, visit the thought-provoking Hoa Lo Prison, where John McCain famously spent part of his 5.5 years as a POW in. Have some free time in the 36 bustling streets of the Old Quarters.

    Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch.

    Day 03 – Hanoi/Hoa Lu/Ninh Binh

Heading out of the city, drive 1.5 hour south to Hoa Lu where you visit the Dinh and Le temples surviving from the time Hoa Lu was Vietnam’s capital. (In 2015 – Dinh and Le temples are under renovation on rotation basis. Based on your departure date, we may change the visit to Bich Dong pagoda). Start your scenic bike tour and cycle off trail, passing the quaint countryside (support vehicle via a different route would be provided if you are not confident on biking). After lunch, enjoy a local boat ride on the quaint Thuang Nang River before checking into your resort. As the day wanes, visit the wetlands at Van Long Nature Reserve where numerous storks nest for the night.

To fully appreciate the environment, we strongly recommend an extra night stay.

    Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch.

    Day 04 – Hanoi/Hoa Lu/Ninh Binh

This morning, drive about 5 hours to Halong Bay, one of the 5 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Board your privately chartered cruise and after lunch has been served, you take a short trek to a nearby summit to enjoy the panorama view of the bay.

Slip into a kayak or go for a swim before enjoying a sumptuous dinner under the moonlit sky. (Note: Program may differ slightly base on cruise ships).

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

    Day 05 – Halong Bay / Hanoi

Greet the new day with Tai Chi exercise before visiting a beautiful limestone grotto to admire its many unique rock formations. Before driving back to Hanoi, stop to enjoy a unique water puppet show in a village where water puppetry originated. You will enjoy lunch in the village before the 1-hour show and drive back to Hanoi arriving in the late afternoon. (Varies with flight schedule)

    Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.
