  • Day 01 – Lima

    Arrival in Lima, meet our representative at the airport who will provide you with brief city orientation and helpful information. Transfer to your hotel.  Day at leisure. Overnight stay in Lima.

    Day 02 – Lima

    Today, we will go sightseeing around the main streets, plazas and avenues of the city.  We will start at the Miraflores Love Park with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.  We will then have a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial center of the ancient Lima culture.  We will continue to the Main Square where we will find the Central Government Palace and the City Hall.  We will visit the Cathedral and walk to Santo Domingo Convent, along which corridors San Martin de Porras and San Rosa de Lima used to walk around in 17th century, and where their remains rest today.

    After that, Lima will surprise us with one of the best museums of the country.  We will visit the Larco Museum, an 18th century mansion built on top of a pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century. Outstanding are the pottery, gold objects and textiles, in addition to the most complete collection of erotic huacos and mummies of the Chavin, Chimu, Nazca and Inca cultures.  Overnight in Lima.

    Day 03 – Lima to Cusco

    Transfer to the airport for our flight to Cusco.  Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the morning is free to acclimatize to the altitude (Cusco is at 3,400m above sea level).

    In the afternoon, we will visit the most outstanding sites of the magnificent center of Cusco, a mixture of Inca and Spanish culture.  Our first stop will be at Saint Dominique or the Koricancha (the Temple of Gold), a beautiful convent built on top of an Inca palace.  We will continue to the Cathedral to enjoy an impressive sample of architecture and paintings of the Cusco School.  Continuing with our immersion into the city, we will visit Sacsayhuaman; the spectacular constructions and surrounding landscape are a perfect mixture.  The adventure continues towards Q’enqo Sanctuary to appreciate the altar embedded in the rock.  We will finally reach the Puca Pucara viewpoint and Tambomachay, a striking architectonic monument considered one of the pillars of the Andean worldview.  Overnight in Cusco.

    Day 04 – Cusco to Sacred Valley

    The Sacred Inca Valley welcomes us this day.  On the way we will stop at Awanacancha, a complex where we will be able to feed the Andean camelids, the llamas and alpacas, and also to chat with the local population who will show us their weaving and dyeing of their traditional textiles.  We will then go to the traditional Pisac Market where we will have free time to tour it and buy handicrafts. If you are in the mood of tasting something traditional, pass by the wood ovens and get some bread or empanadas.   We will have lunch at a local restaurant.  In the afternoon, we will go on to Ollantaytambo, a picturesque village continuously inhabited since the Inca times, where we will visit the temple with the same name, used as a fortress during the Inca resistance and where we can get collection photos.  Dinner and overnight in the Sacred Valley.

    Day 05 – Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco

    We will catch the train to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World.  We will arrive at the Aguas Calientes station, where our staff will assist us to catch the vehicle that will take us up by a meandering road that offers us a spectacular view of the Urubamba River that shapes the famous canyon.  The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will welcome us with incredible terraces, stairways, ceremonial rooms and urban areas.  The energy emanates from everywhere.  After a guided tour we will have time to explore the citadel and have a lunch in one of the local restaurants.  At the scheduled time, we will catch the train back and be transferred to hotel.  Overnight in Cusco.

    Day 06 – Cusco to Puno

    We will depart early in the morning to Puno with private transport guide.  On the way we will stop from time to time to visit the attractions on this route of scenic value.  Our first stop will be at Andahuaylillas, where we will visit its exquisite chapel.  We will then go on to Racchi, the Temple of god Wiracocha, which outstands for the huge walls and corridors of the precinct.  Our next stops will be to have lunch and enjoy the views at La Raya, the natural border between Cusco and Puno.  Before arriving at out final destination, we will visit the Pucara Site Museum. We shouldn´t miss the opportunity of buying one of the pottery bulls that are a classic of the place.  We will arrive in Puno late in the afternoon and we will settle in our hotel.  Overnight in Puno.

    Day 07 – Puno to La Paz

    Very early we will go overland to the Copacabana Sanctuary to board the catamaran cruise and sail to the Sun Island, cradle of the Inca Empire, enjoying a snack on board.  In this legendary island, we will visit the Inca Garden, Stairway and Fountain.  The itinerary also includes the visit to the Inti Wata Cultural Complex, the main private tourist attraction in Bolivia, including the Ekako underground museum, the centers of traditional medicine and reed raft manufacturing, the Pachamama Inca farming terraces, an artisan center, the Intica lodge and the largest variety of Andean camelids that you can see from the Manco Kapac viewpoint.  The visit to the Inti Wata Complex also includes sailing on board a huge reed raft and the panoramic visit of the Pilkokaina Inca palace.

    We will then board the catamaran again to go to Chua Port while enjoying a buffet lunch on board.  At Chua we will catch the bus to go to the city of La Paz overland.

    Day 08 – La Paz – Oruro – Uyuni

    Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the bus station to catch the regular bus from La Paz to Oruro.  We will continue by train to the town of Uyuni where we will arrive late in the evening.  Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

    Day 09 – Uyuni – Salar de Uyuni – Colchani

    Breakfast in the hotel.  Departure to Uyuni to visit the salt mines and the Incahuasi Island, located in the midst of the mines and is the biggest of a group of islands that represent a separate ecosystem.  The island is populated by a species of cactus that can reach up to 12 meters high, which added to the panorama provided by the mines, it becomes a breath taking view.  Box lunch.  In the afternoon, visit to the village of Chantani.  Arrival at Luna Salada Hotel.  Accommodation, dinner and overnight.

    Day 10 – Colchani to Ojo de Perdiz

    Breakfast.  Departure for Ojo de Perdiz, visiting on the route the Galaxies Grotto (famous for its geological formations), the Ramaditas, Chiarkhota, Honda, Hedionda, and Cañapa lakes and the Ollague viewpoint. Arrival at Tayka hotel in the desert.

    Accommodation, dinner and overnight.

    Day 11 – Ojo de Perdiz – Laguna Colorada – Laguna Verde – Hitu Cajon – Atacama

    Breakfast.  Departure for the Red Lagoon crossing on the way the Siloli desert where you can find the Stone Tree and will be able to see llamas, vicuñas and a unique rodent called vizcacha.

    Entrance to the Eduardo Avaroa National Andean Fauna Park and visit to the Red Lagoon, an interesting site because of the color of its waters resulting from the accumulation of fine red sediments in the surface, as well as the pigmentation of certain type of algae.  The lagoon is the most important place in the region to observe flamingos as it is populated by 3 species (among which are the famous James).  We will continue our trip south visiting on the way the geysers and fumaroles, arrival at the Green Lagoon, an awesome water mirror that looks like a giant emerald with a unique shine in the mornings and afternoons; the color is the result of the high content of magnesium in the water.  In the vicinity of this lagoon is the Licancahur volcano (5,868 m.). We will then continue to the Cajón milestone (border between Bolivia and Chile).  Meet and greet at the Cajón Milestone, in the Chilean border, and transfer to the San Pedro de Atacama hotel. Overnight.

    Day 12 – Atacama

    Departure from the hotel to the Tatio Geysers.  Exploration at the highest geothermic camp located 4.300 masl. in the Andean mountains. The steam fumaroles, which can reach 50 meters high, get mixed with the breathtaking beauty of the Andes, of multiple colors and varied wildlife, including the vicunas, an American camelid of elegant gait and adapted to living in extreme climate and geographic conditions.  The geothermic fields has its origin in the earth magma; the mountain melt waters filter between the crust cracks reaching deep, hot zones and finally when they come in contact with the earth magma, they ragingly rise in the form of steam and boiling water, giving rise to the fumaroles and jets that rise as a result of the change in temperature. Upon return, nature delights us with a moving landscape of mountains and volcanoes over 5.500 masl, as well as an important bird population in the small rivers that flow their way to end up in the great Atacama Salt Mine.  Breakfast on site.  Return to San Pedro de Atacama. Rest of the day free. Overnight.

    Day 13 – Atacama to Santiago

    Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the Calama airport. (01h15). Arrival in Santiago de Chile. Welcome at the hotel and transfer to the hotel.

    Day 14 – Viña del Mar and Valparaiso

    Breakfast in the hotel. Departure from the hotel for a full day excursion to the seatown of Viña del Mar, located 120 kms. from Santiago and also known as the “garden city” because it is surrounded by green areas, wide pedestrian ways, beautiful plazas and flowery gardens.  The activity in this city is intense in Valparaiso Street, commercial center and meeting point surrounded by outdoor cafes.

    After that, we will visit Valparaiso, a port city of unusual architecture and street tracing, where the urban landscape is combined with a display of narrow streets, alleys and stairways that rise to reach the top of the mountains in the midst of the huge dimension of the ships anchored in the bay and the Congress building.

    During the excursion, we will make a stop in a restaurant to enjoy lunch on the passenger’s account.  Return to Santiago.  Overnight.

    Day 15 – Santiago

    Breakfast in the hotel. In due time, departure to the airport to catch your international flight to next destination.
